Your privacy is important to us. By using Quranote, you acknowledge and agree to our data practices as described below:
- Location Data: Prayer time calculations require your location. This is processed locally or via a geocoding API and is never stored on our servers without your consent
- Account Data: Registered users' email addresses and bookmarks are stored securely and never sold to third parties
- Analytics: We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) and anonymous analytics to understand how users navigate the site, which helps us improve the Service
- Cookies: We use session cookies essential to the Service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies
- Third-Party Services: Audio is streamed from cdn.islamic.network, and fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. These services have their own privacy policies
Quranote does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers. We are ad-free by principle, not just by design.
Quranote's audio recitation feature is powered by the Islamic Network CDN (cdn.islamic.network). Prayer times are calculated using the Aladhan Prayer Times API. By using these features, you acknowledge that:
- These third-party services are independent of Quranote and have their own terms of service
- Quranote is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or continuity of these external services
- Audio quality and availability may vary based on your internet connection and the third-party CDN's uptime
- Prayer time calculations are estimates based on mathematical formulas and may vary from local mosque announcements by a few minutes
- Google Fonts and Font Awesome are used for typography and icons, which may load data from their respective servers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Quranote specifically disclaims:
- Any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
- Any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any translation presented on the platform — users should always consult a qualified Islamic scholar for religious guidance
- Responsibility for any religious rulings (fatwas) derived from use of the Site — Quranote is a reading aid, not a source of religious authority
- Any liability for prayer time discrepancies — always verify with your local mosque for confirmed prayer times
Quranote is a digital reading tool. For religious guidance, rulings, or tafseer, please consult a qualified Islamic scholar or your local mosque.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Quranote, its founder, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Service
- Any content accessed through the Service
- Unauthorised access to your account or personal data
- Interruption or cessation of the Service
- Any errors or omissions in the content provided
In any case, Quranote's total liability to you for all claims shall not exceed the amount you have paid to use the Service in the past twelve (12) months — which for most users is zero, as the Service is free.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users via email of any material changes
- Post a notice on the Quranote homepage for significant updates
Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
We are committed to transparency. We will never introduce changes that compromise your privacy or the free, ad-free nature of Quranote without clear advance notice.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. Quranote serves a global Muslim community and aims to resolve any concerns amicably and fairly.
If you have a concern or dispute regarding the Service, please contact us directly at info@quranote.com before pursuing any formal legal remedy.
